Privacy Policy
This policy explains how WuNEO websites and products that expressly refer to it handle information. We explain local features, accounts, payments, optional online services and user feedback separately; individual products only supplement provisions that differ from general rules.
Information we process
Using our products does not mean all your content is sent to WuNEO. Processing text, files or logs on your device is a fundamentally different data flow from sending those materials to our servers.
Local features such as editing or counting process the content needed for those tasks. Accounts, purchases, online sync or feedback may generate additional records. Uploading, recipients and user controls depend on the actual service enabled, rather than applying one product’s privacy behavior to all products.
The legal operator and working contact details appear below.
Website browsing and device storage
The WuNEO portfolio site uses browser local storage wuneo:theme to remember light or dark theme choices; current code does not upload this value. You can clear your browser storage to remove this preference.
This site does not currently load third-party advertising or behavioural analytics scripts. Hosting and security services may still process technical data including IP addresses, requested paths, timestamps and browser details. Actual providers, purposes and retention depend on production configuration; static sites are not free of network data processing.
Accounts licences and payments
Enabling account features may involve email addresses, account identifiers, login verification data, session and device details, and security data such as IP addresses and browser info. Purchasing and licence management also involve records of products, entitlements, trials and activations.
Payment providers process payment details; we receive order records needed for delivery, subscription management, reconciliation and refunds. Actual providers, received fields and retention legal grounds depend on active channels; unreleased channels are not treated as active.
These records support authentication, requested services, licence and transaction management, security and statutory obligations. Grounds must be established for each purpose and applicable law; accepting this policy is not consent for optional processing.
Local content and optional cloud features
Local features process content on your device to deliver editing, statistics or other requested capabilities. Local content is managed by you on your device; uninstalling an app does not necessarily remove all local data or trial records.
When enabling cloud sync, online processing or sharing features, the required data, recipients, storage and deletion arrangements should be specified in the corresponding feature information. Disabling sync, stopping renewals and deleting cloud data are separate actions and cannot be assumed equivalent.
This policy does not make blanket promises across all current and future products regarding end-to-end encryption, zero data retention or third-party AI training exclusions. When adopting such capabilities, appropriate disclosures reflecting actual services and vendor terms will be provided.
Analytics and diagnostics
Some products or landing pages may collect usage events and diagnostics to understand feature adoption and reliability. Products should describe the specific data, providers, default state, available controls and applicable consent or opt-out paths.
Random installation identifiers link events to a single installation and do not automatically make records unrecognizable or anonymous. Disabling analytics does not ordinarily erase previously collected events; existing data, outbound queues and deletion terms require separate confirmation.
When contacting support, we process the text, contact details and attachments you provide. Diagnostic reports may contain typed text or other personal details; review and remove unwanted information before submission. Storage and transmission paths depend on the support channel used.
Necessary WordTally provisions
WordTally reads accessible text from other applications via operating system APIs, calculating changes in local memory to measure writing activity, generating statistics and related metadata. This is not uploading your complete manuscripts to WuNEO.
Routine statistics and NeoSync are designed around metrics and metadata rather than body text; application titles, domains, document names, device IDs and timestamps may themselves involve personal data.
When you run an “Input Check” diagnostic, the report may include text typed or pasted during the check, including new content entered after switching windows. You can preview and edit the report before submitting it, or choose not to submit; content is transmitted only when you choose to send feedback. This diagnostic flow is separate from routine statistics and cloud sync.
Usage analytics are enabled by default for new WordTally desktop installations. Valid existing choices are preserved on upgrade; legacy preferences missing the field migrate to off. You can disable usage analytics in settings. Current telemetry configuration uses PostHog, with a US region endpoint as the default; analytics events are typically retained for up to 12 months before rolling deletion.
WordTally website analytics are separate from desktop telemetry. When enabled, the website tracks limited events such as page views, downloads and purchase entries, without session recording, and respects browser Do Not Track signals. Additional regional choice mechanisms remain subject to implementation.
Recipients retention and deletion
When providing services, information may be processed by hosting, security, authentication, payment, analytics or support providers. Cross-border transfers, regions and safeguards depend on production deployment and vendor agreements; using encrypted transport does not alone satisfy cross-border requirements.
Categories have different purposes and retention rules. Local data is managed through the device and product; account records support accounts; transaction records may need legal retention; sync, analytics and support records require their own rules.
Deleting an account, refunding or stopping a subscription does not automatically erase all records. Production databases, backups, security audits, support logs and legally mandated records must be handled separately with clear request paths and timelines.
Your choices and rights
Under applicable laws, you may have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, data portability and consent withdrawal, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with supervisory authorities. Specific rights depend on the processing and applicable law.
You can use the in-app analytics toggle, local export and other settings. Statutory requests should be submitted to support@wuneo.com and will be handled within applicable legal deadlines after identity verification. Local export does not substitute for rights requests regarding cloud or account data.
Minors and policy updates
Applicable product ages, parental oversight and minor data rules depend on the product and sales markets. We do not apply a single arbitrary age threshold across jurisdictions.
Material changes should be explained before taking effect or within legally required timeframes, obtaining choices or consents where needed. New products with different data flows will include dedicated disclosures rather than defaulting to WordTally’s handling.
